Custom Work |

We’ve come a long way since starting our business in 1996. Back then the task of designing, constructing and installing a custom window or door panel was daunting. Today, thanks to education and experience, we can complete almost any project for your home or business. These examples may give you an idea or two. Most of the work shown here was constructed in lead came, the common method in church windows. Glass pieces are cut and fit into the channels of lead strips; the intersections of the strips are then soldered. The entire panel is solidified with a plaster compound and, commonly, reinforced with steel bars. We also use the copper foil method, where glass pieces are wrapped edgewise in copper tape. The resulting seams between wrapped pieces are then soldered. Reinforcement can be added internally with copper strips or externally with brass bars. For windows, a custom panel can replace an existing window, be installed against it (with clips or molding), or be hung in front of a it. For doors we generally replace an existing window or fill a newly-constructed opening.
